Trigeminal neuralgia, or Tic Douloureux, is a neuropathic disorder of the trigeminal nerve that causes episodes of intense pain in the eyes, lips, nose, scalp, forehead, and jaw. Trigeminal neuralgia is considered by many to be among the most painful of conditions.

at the begining of Oct., I began experiancing terrible pain on the right side of my face, basicaly in the cheek area. At first, I believed it was only a toothache, and went to see a dentist. when he numed my gums, however, the pain got very intense and even started a migrane. He x-rayed my mouth, and tested the teeth, and could not find anything wrong with them. He sent me for a ct scan because a small shadow showed up in my sinus cavity on the x-ray. The ct showed a very small cist there, but he told me there was no way it could be the cause of the pain. So I went to a doctor, and he mentioned this disease as a possible cause for my pain. He gave me t3 for pain, and zopiclone to help me sleep, to tide me over for now. I have never heard of this disease before, and I am a little scared. the pain has spread to include my eye, which is twitching often now. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

good luck!
In my case, the TN is a result of MS, so I already had a neurologist. Given the trouble with your eye, I'd say seeing a neurologist would be prudent.
Good luck, and know that the fear subsides when the symptoms come under control.
Do you know where we rank in health outcomes? 37th! 37th IN THE WORLD! I'm not kidding. That is according the the World Health Organization of the U.N. WHY? Why now when we can have anything to eat that we could possibly want at any time of the year! Maybe that is the problem...Maybe more is not better, maybe more choices means less nutrition. Maybe MS today means that your cells are not communicating with each other so your immune cells are eating up the myelin sheath cells. 4 Nobel Prizes in Medicine and Physiology have been awarded in the area of cellular communication. Cell-surface glyconutrients are essential for this cellular communication. Ever hear of this? Most of us haven't! And guess what else? Those glyconutrients are no longer available in our multi-varied food supply. Without those monosaccharides (glyconutrients) one cell in your body cannot recognize another cell. In fact, cells cannot even identify a bacteria, a virus, a cancer cell, because THEY all have glyconutrients encoded on THEIR cell walls and if your cells do not have thenm then there is no recognition, no identification, no defense. Glyconutrients mean health, without them, there is no health.
We can continue the fight of individual diseases, each with its own diagnosis and its own drug or surgical procedure which causes other diseases and requires other surgical procedures. Or we can come down on the side of HEALTH...the body heals itself...and it does this best without the interference of pharmaceuticals all of which are TOXIC and have side effects. Do you know the term LD50%? LD50% is the lethal dose level at which a drug kills 50% of the lab animals. All drugs have this level; that is the definition of Drug. Without this level, the substance is considered a food (more on that later). Drugs are toxic: Researchers take the LD50% dose and back it down until they find a dose which will have the desired effect you want without killing you. Unfortunately, many drugs cause liver damage because your liver must detoxify the body of that dangerous drug/poison. Eventually the liver gives out.
What is the alternative? Look at what you eat. Do you eat 9-12 helpings of fruits and veges in a day? Do you eat the least processed foods that you can? Do you avoid harmful additives such as aspartame, synthetic sweetners, etc? Even if you do those things...your body still has to work overtime using up its emergency supply of glyconutrIents because YOUR FOOD IS DEVOID OF THESE ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS.
These nutrients were not discovered until the food processing industry had already adopted practices which eliminated them. It would be nice to get them in our food, but we cannot, we must supplement them. I wonder what health looks like?
Glyconutrients were given the LD50% test and failed it...THERE WAS NO LETHAL DOSE: Lab animals given larger and larger doses got healthier and healthier.
Glyconutrients were classified as food. The missing food! The reason why in the last 2 decades we are sicker and sicker?
Look at what you are eating...you may be able to take responsibility for your own health! good luck!
