i have the same problem , i just finished pulling the last single hair in my eyelashes...but i'm sure i'll do stop it, one day !!
i talked to girl in my society that has trich. (scalp) i felt better , u need to know that you are not the only one that has this problem, for me , that makes me keep doing it !! well, i'm crazy !
you need to stop it now , and never say "just this hair" becasue u'll end up with no hair..just stop it
get a stress ball, join yoga courses , play regular sport, read, watch movies, put the tweezers(if u use it) in somewhere hard to get .
and you can talk to me anytime your in need to talk :)
also, if your trich is stress related, you could think about trying a stress medication. exercising also helps because it is a positive release of energy that will help you feel better about yourself.
Finding a therapist that has dealt with trich before may have other helpful suggestions.
You CAN do this.
My mom bought me this relaxation cd about two years ago specialized towards trich people. i listen to it everynight. it really helps. its from Britian, and is called Growth or something.
Best of luck!
Crzy has listed some 'stop pulling tips'. I would check those out.
What works best is a multi-faceted approach. You can attack it with hair care products, diet, 'hot spot controls' like a cold washcloth or Sea Breeze astringent, supplements like inositol and amino acids, and of course the behavioral pieces that Crzy has listed.
The first step is to 'catch yourself' ..... to become 'aware' of when you are pulling. Then you identify a plan for that behavior, i.e. sitting reading a book and pulling....I will have a stress ball in my free hand whenever I sit down to read.
A journal is great for this. That way you can more easily identify your 'triggers' and then observe what is working for you and not working for you!!
That's it in a nutshell. But there is a ton of information behind the nutshell, so I strongly suggest you read everything you can find on this site!!!
There is hope for getting past this!!! So be encouraged!
And welcome to all the new folks!!!!!!!
