Hi I'm new to the site. For a long time I was scared to try and stop pulling because I didn't want to face the fact that my hair might not go back to being the way it was before. And, unfortunately, one of my "triggers" is the texture of the new, damaged hair- thick and kinky. I have managed to not pull any hair for over a month now, but I feel like I need some kind of hope for my "future hair." Right now it is very thick, coarse, and dry. Has anyone tried chemically straigtening their regrown hair? Apart from vanity reasons I thought it might help with the texture issue. There are probably better straightening methods that would be less damaging. (Ironic to be worried about damaging hair when I've been doing that for 15 years) But I would love some feedback. Thanks!
