i was wondering if the Tics caused by TS can cause painful muscle stiffness and loss of range of movement or if i might just have a rotator cuff issues. i have had for some time now a stiffness in my left shoulder and loss of range of motion(left arm only). i do tend to tic more on the left than on the right and was wondering if it can afect the muscles do to the constant supression of and then release of the tics. discussion or advice is welcomed. I also just found out that cheek bitting is a TS tic....for years i thought it was just a nervous/anxiety thing. i learn more all the time.

What you are describing is the basis for what is now "Habit Reversal Therapy". You could have made millions! :) That's the latest strategy being taught to people with tics. I had asked my son's ped. neurologist about it, and she smirked and said that she was trained in it and felt it was what a lot of kids did on their own anyway to try to mask tics.
Makes since. Does it completely get rid of the urge to do the first tic though? In your opinion.

Are you medicated for your tics? Have you found any meds that have really helped you get them under your control. Also, have your tics improved after puberty and with age?
