I am due to start TRT in January - but lately had a spike in tinnitus - I said what the heck - I put white noise on an MP3 player and forced myself to do an hour - it's hard to do it with the MP3 player because I have to go around with head phones - and block out other sounds - so it's just the broad band noise and the tinnitus - yikes - but each time I did an hour - my T calmed down - instantly -but the relief only lasts like two hours and then I have to do it again -
But I got to wondering - when I have the digital aid/masker combo on and I am hearing while using the white noise - if I can do it most of the day -
Like, I cannot do the mp3 player while driving - with headphones - I would have to play it through the radio - but.....
When I do TRT - can this so get easier for me -
It excites me that this broadband noise thing could have something to it -
I never did the mp3 therapy - but you know, it is hard - I mean you walk around with those headphones with a mp3 player in your pocket and every time someone speaks to you, you have to take them back off and say, "what?"
One of the forum members talked to my husband today on the phone - soooo nice - and he is more encouraged about the therapy and the money that will be spent -
I think after all those drugs and mess - this may really help me - but I can understand why it turns people off - the white noise gets annoying -
It's annoying to my ears - but my brains loves it -
what a mess - from my understanding if I want long lasting results, I will have to have those on hours every day - the average time of seeing results in 10 months -
But I was surprised to get relief so quick.
Around the middle of January - when this journey officially begins - I'll try to post a diary - so anyone coming after me will know the ups - the downs - etc.
But if you are suffering right now and have hearing in that ear - download broad band white noise and use the ear buds that don't totally plug up the ear - then try to clock off an hour and pull them out and see if you feel better.
I would love to hear from fellow posters about this -
