i'm late 50's and didn't realize the noise i had heard all my life was ringing in the ears or tinnitus. a dentist sent me to a specialist a few years ago because he thought i had TMJ. the specialist told me i didn't. however i have misplaced mandible jaw something or the other. it can be corrected by surgery, but he advised not to. then he said, "it won't help your tinnitus". i'm like, tinnitus? i always thought it was normal to hear flourescent lights and that snare drums caused headaches and earaches, and that some sirens seemed to pierce the skull. now i found this group and everyone is talking about drug therapy and how much it helps their tinnitus. am i missing something? is there a pill that will take away the noise?
