I have this buzzing/ringing in my ears I've been telling Drs since I came home from Viet Nam in 1969 and the Drs would just look at me funny and tell me not to worry about it. I was at the Veteran's Assistance Counselor this past May and he asked me "Do you have any kind of ringing in your ears?" I said yes since I came home from Viet Nam and all the Drs told me not to worry about it. He told me I had T and to fill out this claim form with the Gov. I've since been awarded a 10% disability from the Government. Thanks to All my Drs who said "don't worry about it" Tom

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Glad to hear that you found the right person to ask the right question so you could get your 10%. To bad it wasn't retroactive as I am sure you have had this a number of years.
Being a non combat vet myself I have as recently as the Vietnam war thought that soldiers can be an afterthought once their service is completed. I know extraordinary things are done for soldiers so don't think I am saying that they don't care. But going back to their refusal to believe agent orange caused birth defects and other ailments I began to realize that there is plenty of denial when it comes to certain injuries. Now as a result of the Iraq and Afganistan wars and the thousands of soldiers with noise trauma, tinnitus has finally come to be recognized as disabling. It is probably because of these wars that you are getting the 10% disability award. The tinnitus community is in a buzz over the recent DOD award of $50 million dollars to study it now that it is seen as a real problem.
