I am 3 days post RAI and I'm feeling very nauseous with this weird tase in my mouth and same weird smell, does this sound familiar to anyone and how long does it take for these symptoms to pass?

I hope you are doing okay. Wanted let you know I am thinking about you and wishing the best for you.

Things in general smelled weird and tasted weird to me. The smelling went away pretty quickly.

I am still getting my taste back for things and I had RAI 2 months ago. I found myself putting seasonings on things even salad to get some flavor. And I loved chocolate before RAI and now it is just okay to me.

Remember that with the RAI it effects you salvia glands so that could be part of it.

Some people feel like they have the flu. So I think with the nausea you may be getting some of that. Hopefully it will pass quickly.

Sounds about right. I had RAI 200mc on the 23rd, I was warned about nausea and given something just in case I needed it. I was told that my sense of taste might be affected and man it sure has been. Everything taste sweet (sickly sweet). I would love to tell you how long it will take to recover but that is different for each person. This is my 2nd time through this last time 175mc I did not have any of these problems. I just pray I never have to go through this again.

It sure helps to get back on the thyroid supplement, being Hypo is worst then radioactive.

It can take anywhere from a few months to 2-3 years for things to get back to normal. Peoples' reactions with RAI vary significantly.

Good Luck with everything! I dont go for the RAI until mid Jan. I hope you feel much better soon.

    I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
