Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is any sudden and unexplained death of an apparently healthy infant aged one month to one year. SIDS is responsible for roughly 50 deaths per 100,000 births in the US.

they other day me, my daughter (who is only 2) and my sister were watching tv. My daughter said she wanted to go in my room and i told her it was okay... a few minutes later i could hear her trying to get into something so i called her out of my room... she came into the hallway and pointed in my room and said "oops" and so i walked down the hall and picked her up and went into my room and asked her "oops what?" she pointed to my night stand on the left side of my bed (the one i have Blaises ashes and death certificate and the medical examiners report in). she then said "Odin oops" (My sons name in Blaise Odin Paul Matthews and she doesn't know his middle names) and i got a bit creeped out. so i walked back into the livingroom and told my sis what she said.. she then asked her "did you say that?" and Chrystine replied, "yeah" so Jenn asked her if she was trying to get in my night stand and she once again replied "yeah". then my sister asked her why she was trying to get into my night stand and she said "i don't know" so Jenn asked her if she saw something by my night stand and she said "yes" Jenn looked at me and i knew what her next question was going to be. She asked Chrystine, "did you see someone by the night stand?" and she said, "yes". by this point i was already in tears.... Jenn asked Chrystine who she saw by the night stand and Chrystine was real quiet for a second and then looked me straight in the eyes and said "a baby" me and Jenn just stared at each other and then Jenn asked Chrystine who the baby was and she said " i don't know" and jenn told her " i think you do know. Who was the baby Chrystine?" and Chrystine was real quiet again so i sat on the couch and had her on my lap, facing me and i was crying and she looked at me agan, very seriously, straight in my eyes and said........ "my brother". has any one else had anything like this happen with their other children? it really freaked me out but then i was kinda relieved by it too.... but then again it made me feel as if he was trying to reach out to her and tell her something... or tell someone something... i just don't know.... i figred i would share this with all of you seeing as we have all gone through this terrible loss... can you guys just give me some advice as to what you would do if something like this happened to you? thank you and i hope this didn't scare any one or anything.. it was really creepy

I just read that whole thing in amazement! I do not have any other children but I do have animals. There have been lots of incidences with our animals and Angel Kaili. The most recent was Stinziebinzie (our 20 lb cat) got up on to Seans dresser and stretched his body up to Kaili's picture, meowed and kissed it. Goobisloobis (our other cat) has given the pics some kisses too. The one day we were going away I was talking to goobisloobis and saying I better get Kaili (well her teddy and urn) ready to go away with us. Goobis just stared at Kaili's shelf... so I told him I would leave her here with him and I would just take her balnkie. Well I open the door to her shelf, remove the blankie and all of a sudden her stand made this big loud bang... so I took it as a hint that she wanted everything to stay home with the kitties.
I am such a firm believer in our children's spirits!

that is an amazing story. i have a daughter who will be 2 in december but she can't talk yet. she hasn't done anything like this and hasn't seemed especially interested in gus or what happened to him. i know children are especially sensitive to spirits so it doesn't sound crazy, but it does make me a little nervous for my daughter. if i were you, i wouldn't let the experience creep you out. i wouldn't be surprised if blaise just wanted to get to know your daughter better and make himself known to her, if that makes sense to you.

thank you for your replies. and about the whole kitty thing, WOW! that is amazing that they have given her picture kisses and stuff.. and to melmck, it does make sense... but i just wish she could talk better so she could let me know if he looked sad or happy and what not....

My 2 year old nephew has seen Owen twice. The first time he was in his room and he was supposed to be sleeping but he was calling for his mommy. My sister went in there and he was pointing up in the corner saying "Owen, Owen"
Then they were a the fireworks for Sept long weekend, and he was pointing at the fire rings or something(I was not there) and was saying "Owen" again. I guess we think he has seen him but he is just 2 so not sure what he is talking about but it seems pretty obvious.

Hi....I have a daughter that will be 2 on Monday and when I found out I was pregnant with Josh I was so afraid she was going to be jeolous of him and act out but to our amazement she was a great big sister to him for the 9 weeks he was with us ...she and I take a bath together (alot of people don't agree with this but like I care.....we only have 2 bathrooms and my son has one and me and hubby has one ....ours has a seprate shower and a huge garden tub and my sons has shower/bath tub combo and since he is 17 I didn't want to invade his space and make him share he will be leaving for college soon so she can have it then...anyway when she was old enough to go from baby tub we used kitchen sink then when she was big enough for the tub we used my garden tub and she acted like she was afraid of it so one night I was in it alone and she kept trying to climb in so hubby stripped her down and put her in with me and it has become a ritual every night we take a bath together.....well after Josh was born one night she kept wanting him in there with us so I had hubby bring him in to and we played with him and she loved it so after that hubby would bring him in there with us for our bath time )Now that Josh has passed probably 5-6 times she will point up at the ceiling and say Josh so excited ...she will point and get my attention and point back at the ceiling saying Josh mommy Josh.....then she will do the same to hubby like she wants us to see him....It scared me at first and I cried and cried but I wish I could see him too.....I know she is to young to make this up.....and I too wish her language was better so I could question her more on it.....like I said it has happened several times and his named is not mentioned before it happens.....one night she wanted to see him she stood up in the bath and started calling his name but never pointed just saying josh over and over.....but it is like he only comes to her in the bath because this was our (the 3 of us ) special time together.....but she did this also in the car one day pointing and saying Josh mommy Josh look.....sorry to ramble on and on just trying to give the whole story

This isn't really exactly the same but two weeks after my son died I moved out of my home into another townhouse in my building cause i just couldn't handle be in the house where my baby had died (I now regret moving deeply) When my baby was 2 weeks old and still alive I was up late one night and went to the bath room holding him in my arms to get diaper cream or something. It was dark and I accidently drop something and smashed the toilet tank. This scared Tyler so bad that he screamed for 20 minutes uncontrably. I calmed him and went ot bed and never thought of it again. After moving and over six months after the incident I got to chatting with the woman that moved intro my suite. She had no idea that my baby had died there months earlier and I felt weird about saying anything to her , so i didn't. During conversation she said to me: You jknow the weirdest thing keeps happening to me! I ask her what not thinking anything of it and she said, since i moved in here my toilet tank has smashed 3 times since i moved in. It creeped me out so i told her what had happened and she allowed me into her home when she was at work to talk to Tyler in private and she said it never happened again. i believe that he died so suddenly and then i moved and maybe his spirit was confused...not any more!

    theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
