I have been off of work for the last 2 weeks due to a huge pile up of stress. I go back on Wednesday and fear that I'm not ready. I am a single mom of 2 and can't afford any more time off..I've used all of my vacation time with this leave. Any suggestions?

I wish there were an easy answer for you. What is your stress from? Are you getting any help with it? Don't let stress control your life. Being off work for two weeks because of it suggests maybe you need a job change. Good luck...Liz

Have you went to your Dr.? If you are walking back into a situation that caused the stress in the first place, then you need a plan to deal with it. You may need to talk to a professional.

I've found that sometimes having a "plan of action" for when you return to work helps. I'm not sure what your job is, but for me, writing lists of what needs to be done and checking them off as I go not only helps me stay organized, it helps me feel like I'm accomplishing things. Hope this helps!

My job is a constant stress..most of the time it's managable but prior to this 2 week leave, there were a bunch of things that piled on in the personal life and made working too much to deal with. I started feeling really good yesterday. I have seen my doc, a naturopath, started seeing a counselor and am eating and sleeping better. I will be looking for a new job in the near future as my heart just isn't in it anymore but for the time being, I should be fine. I hope. THanks for your advice.

Glad to hear you're feeling better - can you talk to your boss about your stress levels when you go back? In most companies in England you could get a 'sick note' from your dr and get paid when you're ill with stress. I really feel for my US friends who have financial pressures on top of their illness.

let me know if you find a relief. the stress caused me to snap and quit my job.

I Feel like you do. Sometimes it all piles up on you. Having to be mom dad friend punisher, employee. I've buckled under the pressure before. Just prepare yourself. You can go back and you will be fine. Just rememeber to force yourself to find some "you" time. I know sometimes even a half hour for just me helps balance the rest of the chaos.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
