I am a special needs teacher and have worked very hard at civilizing some difficult and unmanageable kids..My first 2 terms were spent with a temporary teaching assistant and then senior management appointed a new one..I later found out that she was not very literate ( I am aliteracy teacher ) then when they were short of someone for swimming lessons they used her because she has a qualification..I have worked at settling this teaching assistant in and the kids have got used to her ..now after 4 months the senior managers have takenn her away to be the swimming coach without any consultation with me and left it to my teaching assistant to tell me...I am disgusted and have shown my lack of support by taking time off work..Do you think its ok to take some time off to get my stress levels down...should they have consulted me...??
