I am in the process of quitting my job. I love my job. I am a nurse on a maternity unit with a group of nurses and staff that are great to work with. But lately have been having such problems with daycare/babysitters.
I can never seem to keep steady care for my kids. I have 3 kids, but my 8 yr old son is in NC where we are relocating to. So I am caring for our 6 yr old and 17 mth old. All my kids have Mental Health issues. They are more behavioral problems than anything.
My baby got kicked out of daycare this week for biting. He has an oral sensory sensitivity and is popping out a few molars at the same time. I had no warning, no notes home, no verbal discussions or anything.
So I prayed about it and feel at peace with the idea of quitting my job. Now I do have a home business as well, so I wont be completely out in the cold
But I get so stressed so easily. And this week was horrible. I feel so guilty calling in sick even when I am sick for work, so calling in for no childcare through me for a loop.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to ways to relieve stress like this?

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
But, in fact, it's helped me soooo much in every area of my life. I'm really shocked, actually. I don't handle stress well traditionally, and it's helped me stay calm and collected during all sorts of moments when I would usually either get really mad or frustrated, or just feel overwhelmed.
[I was reading chapter 4 when my son had his first mega-tantrum, a two-hour meltdown in Target, and I got thru it so calm and consistent that other moms actually came over to compliment me on my patience and fortitude. THAT's a BIG change for me).
Sorry to ramble on. I'm sorry you're in a bit of an upheaval right now, and I hope things settle down and ease up on you soon. Best, Lisa
