I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Every mistake at work makes me feel like a total loser and I'm constantly worried that I am going to be fired or gossiped about... but you know, the main thing is this is all about our confidence (lack of)... and our warped perceptions of self. Most of what we tell ourselves about ourselves is not true. (The negative things)
Have you tried affirmations? I know they sound silly... but the one I use the most was actually from a wise friend of mine who saw/listened to me as I was becoming more and more frazzled about life and everything in it. She simply said "everything works out better when you relax your energy"...
So, whenever I feel that anxiety and hopelessness, I think back to her words and take a deep breath...and say to myself... everything is going to be okay... I just need to relax my energy....
I take a few more deep breaths and concentrate fully on what I am doing in that exact moment... whether it be work or whatever. I also find that puzzles, games, talking with a friend, playing with a pet, watching a funny movie, a hot shower or bubble bath, going for a walk... things like that help me relax too...
Good luck... you will be fine!
