Hi, you are in the right place. I used to suffer so much from social anxiety that I would dread going in public. My home was my safe place. While on the subway in NYC I would feel as if I couldn't breathe right. While walking on the street, I would feel extremely self-conscious, thinking that everyone was watching my every move. While at a party, I would stand in one place all night because I was so afraid of being judged while I danced. It is amazing when I think about how far I have come. Over the years I have read a large number of books on dealing with anxiety as well as how to be happy. I am really glad that I have joined this community. Hopefully, my story will give hope to others who are currently where I used to be. I am not totally free of anxiety but I have learned to better cope with it.
