Hi, I'm new here and my stepdaughter is the antichrist. :D Seriously - how do you deal with a teenage stepchild who emotionally balckmails her parents? This affects me because I am NEVER allowed to say no to her. We can not pay our bills because my husband spends so much on her. There is not anything he (and I by default) am not expected to do for her - basically, I'm living under a tyrant. I think he is trying to make up for the fact that he got a divorce - apparantly she threatened to kill herself. The only other time she threatened this was when I told her she couldn't borrow my car for the weekend (and she made a point to say it was because of that). Maybe she really is that much of an emotional wreck, but I'm sorry, I've always been incapable of walking on eggshells for anybody! I stay away from her and try to ignore the bull, but I'm so irritated I could die!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Your husband really needs to see how insane it is not to pay bills because he feels guilty and allows his child to manipulate him. It's not fair to you and, in the long run, the child pays the ultimate cost. His behavior is not loving towards either of you. Good luck!
