I remember I came home from college in the winter for the holiday and while I was in town I stayed at my dad's old condo. I went to my dads new house for the holiday family meal and I asked my dad if i could to take toilet paper back to the condo with me, since there was none. I grabbed two rolls (1 for each bathroom) and when i went to take them to my car, my stepmom saw me. She was sitting at the dining room table with my relatives and she shouted "where do you think your going, your not taking that toilet paper". After explaining why I was taking 2 rolls and her still having a hissy fit, I went to the bathroom and put the toilet paper in the cabinet with the rest of her toilet paper. I was pretty shocked and completely embarrassed that she shouted at me like that in front of my relatives. Initally I thought she was stingy, but a couple years afterwards my stepsister was eyeing lunchmeat in the fridge and my stepmom gave it to her to take home. I said toiletpaper is a lot less expensive then lunchmeat and my stepmom rolled her eyes. She acts like I was trying to take advantage of her and my dad, when she is a total control freak and treats her biological children with more respect. It pisses me off that she teaches about stepfamilies and yet she doesn't treat nonbiological children equally and without judgement.
