I know shin splint/stress fractures dont seem as bad as some of the other injuries but I got them about 2 years ago while in Tech school, the running mostly, caused small splints and with treatment it wasnt so bad. But then they didnt go away, and started hurting even when I was off my feet. The pain, like someone put melting shattered glass inside my legs and twists it to the point you expect to hear snapping. It radiates from heel to hip and after about 30 min my back. I have a hard time walking, standing or even driving for more than 20 or 30 min at a time and needs sometimes hours of rest before the pain subsides enough to continue. Compresses, heat, ace bandages, ice, stretches, braces, rest, ignoring it, none of it works for more than minutes at a time and only at time of application. The doctor I visited said I should see a specialist about it. So what Im trying to say is: I need ideas what kind of specialist and any treatments that might help.
