My son is just turning 18 years old and is headed to college next year. He has had the same wheelchair for many years and will be getting a new ultra light rigid frame one soon. One question they asked me is what type of vehicle he will be using. Right now he has an older 4 door car, but we plan to get him a different vehicle before next year. What type do any of you suggest? He is mobile by using crutches and braces, but will be using a wheelchair more when he is on his own. Any suggestions will be welcome.

I have had a Scion xB for about a year. Has a ramp (folding, rear ramp), hand controls and a six-way drivers seat. The hand controls are great. Had some minor problems with the six-way seat.

I have a full size 2006 chevy van. I tried the mini but I found it was hard form me to use. It is equiped with electric chair lift that runs off the car battery. I use a motorized chair so it was a must for me. The lift is expensive so I don't know if you have a voc reb or a spinal cord commision in your area but if you do connact them about asistance. I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
