I know the doctors said that our baby would probably be allergic to latex, and now that she is 5 months old, I began checking into some of the common items that have latex in them. The list was surprisingly long, and well... surprising! I had no idea there were so many items containing latex! Chewing gum, carpet, swim suits? That's crazy. I suppose she will never be able to enjoy swimming with any swim toys either. Is that right? Aren't there any alternative toys for balls and swim items that don't contain latex? We even went to her pediatrician last week when she was sick (strep & UTI) and the nurses THERE put on LATEX gloves and held her legs while doing her cath! I had to stop them and ask if they were latex-free and say she's allergic! They didn't even HAVE any latex free gloves! I think that especially dr. offices should carry latex free items! What are some signs of allergic reactions, and does anyone else have some unexpected items that contain latex that we should be aware of?

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
