I have two rare conditions that are keeping me from returning to work. I am on a medical LOA now from my job.
The condition my body and mind are now it will be a very long time before I can return to work.
I have a lawyer but he seems to lake any motivation. I fact I really dont know why i have him at all It has been months and he has only resubmitted my appeal to SS not my insurance company.
I find myself doing all the "leg" work. I cannot get a doctor to write a letter or fill out anything in my benhalf.
I am steroid dependant with severe side effects from prednisone usage prescribed for a lung condition in oct07. It seems no on doctor wants to step up. There really is not any testing that puts on paper how my body has responded to treatment leaving me immoble and mentally distressed.
How can I get Social Sec to approve me when I have nothing tangable to show them other than myself.
I have been to 9 doctors and have an appoinment for a pysciatrist next week for severe depression.
Help any suggestions

A friend sent this to me..As far as I can see, grief will never truly end.It may become softer overtime, more gentleand some days will feel sharp. But grief will last as long as Love does - ForeverIt's simply the way the absence of your loved onemanifests in your heart. A deep longing accompaniedby the deepest Love some days. The heavy fog mayreturn and the next day, it may recede.Once again, it's...

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
If your condition is verified by medical evedence, not having a letter from your Dr is not going to nesscerely hurt your claim, however it does help.
You should have been sent a Function repert to fill out that shows them how your condition effects you.
Your attorney really can't do anything else untill you get to your ALJ hearing and that can sometimes take up to 18 months give or take a few months depending on where you live. Not sure what to tell you on the insurance company.
In the mean time remember to keep your medical record updated and go to counceling for you depression so you have documentation and a Dr that will support your mental impairments.
Hope this helps a little, and I am sure some one elsw will be along to answer more thoughly than I did.
As far as your meds, Prednisone is a lifesaver but is also a curse from HELL! I have had some experience with it and I would not wish it as an only treatment for anyone.
God bless you and know we are here for you. Be sure to let your new Dr know how all this is affecting your life. Don't act like a drama queen as that would be noted as well but he truly needs to know. Actually, I would stress that when we started our visit and even say I hope you don't mind if I mention this to you off the record as I do not want to look like I am embellishing my situation but also feel like I have not been able to get anyone to understand my situation and how this medication, etc. has changed my life.
Most likely, you will get positive results from the Dr because you are serious in wanting to help yourself.
If you have been denied and have been waiting too long to get a hearing - look into getting what is called a Pre-Hearing review of your case or ask for a hearing on the record.
