I just wanted to share the good news with you all that I won my case with Social Security and I was awarded benefits from Jan 2010 on. What a relief..! Just wanted to thank you all for your support and good vibes this past year. It's been a little tough, but it's over..! Keep fighting everyone, it is possible.

That is fantastic news. If you get a chance it sure would be helpful for all to hear what sort of timeline you had on your case. From the time of filling to I assume you went to hearing.

I filed on Feb 1, 2010 and my hearing was Jan 11th, 2011. Almost one year. Once I got the lawyer the whole thing progressed rapidly and was over in two months. I was granted a "bench" decision right then and there. I was awarded back payment from the date I filed, minus the six month waiting period. Thanks for the congrats, I can't tell you how happy I am.

Congrats! That is average time I am learning, it is how the system is at present. I waited 11 months, and used Congressional Aide. (That's contact your senators office and put a request in for them to get a status update from SS on your claim.)

I think it is different in each state but here in Ohio it is something like 38 months but whatever the heck I am going on Monday so I hope and pray after this long process I get approved , I filed in an 2007 , I will let you all know when I get home , yet I don't even know what to expect at the hearing my attorney seems to think he has it in the bag ! I never met him personally never discussed what to expect to have happen or if he needs me to say anything inpaticular or not !! I trust him but it scares me at the same time . My doctor is behind me 100% though so I know I am in good shape there !

    I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
