2) throw away ashtrays, cigs, lighters right before bed the night before your quit.
(**If you are taking meds make sure your quit date corresponds with when the Dr. told you it should be)
3) make a plan before your quit as to what you will do when you get a craving (for example in the car I will suck on hard candy that I will leave in the front seat, when I am around my smoker friends I will drink a lot of water....etc.)
4. follow the plan and adjust the plan as you learn what works and what does not.
5. keep a journal
6. keep coming to this sight and reading and hopefully you will continue to get encouragement here
7. realize before you start it will be hard, stressful, mood altering (for a short amount of time) but comment yourself to this quit.

People told me all the time I needed to quit smoking. THe more they said that to me the more I smoked. It was kinda revengeful type of thing...(lol)
I finally decided I had enough of the habit and quit.
Have been quit now for 48 days.
