I have been using the patch and have not smoked in 8 days. On day 5 I forgot to put the patch on and I work 45 minutes from home. Halfway there I realized that I forgot to put the patch on and decided to try to make it through the day without it. By lunchtime I was feeling very violent to say the least. I ended up being an hour late coming back from lunch because I drove all the way home to get one. I am using Nicoderm CQ and I was a pack a day smoker for 15 years. I started with the second step to gradually taper off that way. Since my lunchtime ordeal I have been trying to not have the patch on constantly and I take it off when I sleep. I don\'t want to use the patch for 8 weeks as is recommended because I just wanted to use it as a crutch for gaining confidence the first 2 weeks. I was wondering if anyone else has tried using the patch this way and if so how was your success in doing so???
