Yesterday was a miraculous day. Eventhough I have 1W-23hr-26m until my official quit date, and after 24 days of getting ready...
****OCTOBER 24, 2007, I WAS NICOTINE FREE FOR 24 HOURS.
Not that I'm home free by any means. It is just a good feeling to have the experience to reflect upon and see that "yes" this is possible to do and no I will not die w/o cigs as my crutch.
With the help of my HP, all the suggestions I've read here, researched on web site, and using a 12Step approach I've been able to come to this day.
I just wanted to post this because this community has been a big factor in my coming to make commitmeent to make this healthy lifestyle change.

Tell yourself ever day YOU CAN DO THIS! As the days go by the QUIT gets easier and easier. I am not going to lie to you and say the cravings won't come ...somtimes they hit you when you least expect it. Remind yourself why you quit..and fight off the urge. The urge to smoke usually only last for a few seconds anway. Hope you have a great Smoke Free day.....and like my Joel says.....
NEVER TAKE ANOTHER PUFF!
