Why did you start again after your pregnacies?
Have you tried other times?
If so, what methods did you use and which worked the best?
Quitting is a mental activity. There is a brief detox period to clear the nicotine from your system, but the rest is all a mind game with yourself.
The basic key to a successful quit is you must desire to not smoke MORE than you desire to smoke.
One way to get into that mindset is to look at each cigarette you smoke. Pay close attention to every detail of the act of smoking. Notice the heat on your fingers and lips. Feel the sting in your mouth and throat as you take a drag. When you inhale or exhale, do you have a tickle down in your throat or lungs? Consider just what is causing that tickle. Notice the difference in the color of smoke you exhale and that which has not been inhaled. Notice how duller the exhaled smoke is? The difference has stayed inside you, coating your lungs and possibly altering the DNA of tissue cells.
As you are doing that, think of why you are smoking that particular cigarette. Did you light up because you were bored, stressed, angry, just finished a meal, just woke up, or ??? If you are smoking in reaction to something, is it helping? Is it resolving the problem? Would another course of action have given better results?
Just some things to consider.
