Three (if I'm remembering correctly) small, flexible but rigid, rods are implanted into the soft palette using a specially designed tool. The purpose is to stiffen the soft palette so it doesn't vibrate during sleep. I saw an online video of the procedure and it takes about one or two minutes and only requires a local anesthetic. I think it's a relatively new technique, but it seems pretty cool, and is supposed to be effective.

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
