I've been using a cpap for about two years. At first I HATED it!! It intimidated me!!! Now I can't sleep WITHOUT it. The few times I took it off and decided to go it "alone", I had horrible acid reflux (the airway pressure holds the acid down believe it or not!) and I woke myslef up snoring REALLLLY loudly!! LOL....so, for newbies, please keep giving it a chance, you will get there too!!!! :)
I am losing weight (have lost 30 pounds so far) and have about 90 to go. I have already decided that I never want to be without my machine!!! :) I sound like a sick individual, don't I??? LOL....

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I've been on mine about 5 mos. now and have yet to lose any noticeable weight but hope it will happen over time.
Like you I cannot and will not sleep with out my machine. I won't nap without it either.

I take my gear with me everywhere I go and after my recent experience without it, I am even more committed to it being with me for life!
Fast forward to the past few years with another world of health problems that have cropped up (RA, Fibro, neuropathy) and was recently RE dx'd with OSA again! Just got my CPAP delivered today. Fancy new thing compared to my last one.
I slept great during the titration study with the full face mask - I thought I'd hate it but found it so much better than the nasal mask. Can't wait to use it tonight!!!
And I know I'll get used to it again rather quickly, and WILL NOT give it up this time.
Oh and if I can lose weight too?? WOW!! Extra bonus!!! :D
