Shyness is a feeling of insecurity that certain people experience while being among others, talking with others, asking favors of others, etc. The initial cause of shyness can vary. Scientists have located some genetic data that supports the hypothesis that shyness is at least partially genetic.

Seriously, shyness is like a disability to me and is one of the factors that keep me so isolated and practising all my self-defeating behaviors. If anyone is interested, you can check out my Nov 4th journal entry. Even if you can't relate to my eating disorder issues, I bet it'll strike a chord in alot of you. I'd love some feedback and comaraderie in this really quite painful "disability" we all share.

It is a disability and is crippling and socially isolating. I am lucky as I have BP Aspergers Chiari etc so am classified as crip.

i totally understand. Its already difficult for us to be comfortable mentally in our own skin and makes it even worse when physically we have the same issues. what i've found is that exercise does play a big role in establishing overall positive self image and well being. hope my .02 helps

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
