Once again, Oprah is at the forefront of fighting sexual abuse. You can read the article toward the bottom of this page, under news. She apparently has a school, and there were some teachers/caretakers at the school accused of abusing the girls there. Oprah immediately took action.
I adore her. I think she's an amazing woman. As some of you already know, Oprah also suffered terrible abuse growing up.
From what I can tell, she's taking this news pretty hard. I think she's going to end up blaming herself for what happened, and it isn't her fault at all. Abusers are cunning people. They MAKE responsible adults trust them so that they can get at the children.
What makes it more horrifying is that the teacher behind the abuse was a woman. I don't know why, but it bothers me a LOT more when I hear about a female abuser than a male. There's something twice as horrible when a woman, who is supposed to be compassionate and gentle, hurts people. Perhaps that's a sexist view.
Anyway, I just wanted to open a discussion about Oprah and what's happening with her school. What do you guys think about it? Do you think Oprah should be blamed for what happened?
And what about the principle of the school who let the abuse happen and didn't react to the childrens' claims?
If you find any updates, please post them here.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I can understand why she would feel responsible and she shouldn't.
She is taking it hard and I have no doubt Oprah will put in some sort of checks and balances to help stop future attacks.
Remember, Oprah is a warrior in so many ways. She'll come out fighting and I doubt the victems will not want for nothing went it comes to getting help.
But as other people mentioned, she'll come out on top, and she will always do the right thing for everyone involved....actually history shows us that she'll go above and beyond the right thing.
I think she's fabulous, too.
