after reading a discussion (or advice) board written by thegoober...i thought i should just ask that if anyone has seen any recent movies, whether it's an old film or a new one, if they could just give me a "heads-up" if the movie contains violence (man hurting woman), sexual content (whether it's forced or not), and any kind of sexual torture...please.
it's much appreciated.
so far, on my list of movies NOT okay for me to watch are:
1) 300 (2007; story of Leonidas and 300 Spartans battling against Xerxes and his HUGE army. Actors: Gerard Butler; Rodrigo Santoro); Review: it was a GREAT movie...other than the fact that it includes a semi-introductory sex scene between Leonidas and his wife that has NOTHING to do with the story line, and then of course the scene where Leonidas' wife is "R" (i can understand why that has a point in the film...because she ends up killing him)
2)Saw 4 (2007; i never saw this film for myself, but much thanks to thegoober for letting me know it has some violence/sexual content.)
3) Once Were Warriors (1994; an abusive father who has a drinking problem beats his wife and "R" her, and brings all his "buddies" over at night to "hang-out". one of these "buddies" ends up "R" his daughter (she in return ends up hanging herself.)
4) Se7en (1995; it's about the Seven Deadly Sins (a.k.a. Capital Vices or Cardinal Sins) such as: Luxuria (extravagance which becomes Lust), Gula (Gluttony), Avaritia (Greed), Acedia (Sloth), Ira (Wrath - Anger), Invidia (Envy), and Superbia (Pride). The sexual part is when he "deals" with Lust; a prostitute is...just messed up. i'll leave it at that.)
5) The Hills Have Eyes (2006; this is another movie that i haven't seen for myself. my fiance told me not to see it because it contains stuff in there i wouldn't want to see.)
again, these are only a few of the movies...i could go on forever...but please, just let me know if you find any...thanks for your help. =)
it's much appreciated.

I am not trying to make it seem like rainbows and unicorns but it isn't the end of the world. My case was so severe I was almost hospitalized because I was so sick and in so much pain. After nearly a week of seeing multiple doctors I finally went to the urgent care again and they did a pelvic exam and knew right away. She did a swab test just to make sure but didn't even wait for the...

Hi,So i just got my diagnosis yesterday. Its been very rough. My husband and i have been married for almost 15 years. We have 2 kids. This past year, we decided to try the lifestyle. I admit it was a lot of fun. We went to parties and clubs and spent time at a resort. We always practiced safe sex and only had intimacy with a few couples. However my doctor reminded me that i might have had this...
This is a wonderful movie adaption of the book. I saw this movie and it really "clicked" with me. That said there is a brief scene where the main characture "flashes back" to a fight between his parents. It might be a trigger for some. I'm still deciding if this guy (it was a true story) was suffering, and running, from PTSD or if he was on a spiritual journey of enlightenment. It's hard to tell. I guess that's a whole different topic. Anyway, I hope this helps.
that was the first movie I had seen where I ended up sitting straight up...holding my right wrist with my left hand...and NOT breathing...when I.."came to"...everyone in the room was just stareing at me...they said it was like I was somewhere else entirely....the scene that hit me was when the daughter got raped and killed...
I am another that cannot watch those types of movies...something so ugly wells up inside me that i really believe that i could kill someone...a rapeist...a child molester...

i haven't seen it (i don't think it's out yet) but apparently there's a scene where a kid is raped.
you are WRONg when you say that it would just about be ANY rated "R" movie....there are alot of great movies out there that do not carry "rape Scenes" in them...and just because rape scene does not bother YOU....does NOT mean it does not bother anyone else !!.....wow.if you see no point to a post....do not reply to it...

i'm not sure how much a movie in the theatres cost for you...but here, it costs almost $9...and that's military discount included. there have been movies where i've stood up and walked out, no refund.
plus, my fiance likes to watch movies. new and old. and i'd like to enjoy one with him where there isn't any sex scene in it.
not all rated "R" movies have sex scenes in them...
and thank you for everyone that's responded to this post. i really appreciate it... =)
so does "sleepers" - though i luv this movie
"black snake moan" was surprisingly insightful...deals with molestation and rape...
I luv horror flicks....and they all seem to have sex scenes... =/ hummm...
if you watch them with someone can they just mute it and you look away? used to be a rule that we had to put our face in a pillow growing up during these parts.
