Of course you should be angry. i did not always fight out with violence when I was being abused. I just felt helpless like I did not have a choice. Even if it was consentual in the book that you read, it does not make it right. We don't know what we want when we are 13! What may seem ok at the time may come back to haunt you when youv'e had time to mature and realize that you were a victim of someone older who was not considering your feelings or well being.

I was six, i never said no, i wouldnt have known how to. I'm still new at the whole facing my past, but he knew what he ws doing he took advantage of you in the worse possible way. ANgei gave good advice, huge hugs im sorru you had to go through this!

The very fact that you were under the age of consent - without the experience in life to reach an informed decision as to what you wanted - means that it was abuse for someone to involve you in sexual activity. You get to be real mad about it.

Don't feel stupid, and never feel you were to blame because you didn't say no!If you were a few years younger than 13 you wouldn't have known what to say no to. I don't know what this book is, but she isn't you, so don't drive yourself nuts comparing yourself with her.
If he thought you might have wanted to that makes him a very sick person who abused you in a cynical way. Be angry, it's very, very fair to be angry!

yes you have every right to be angry with him.

I have trouble believing a 13 year old said yes and was willing to have sex with an "old man". I'm sure after so many years he had plenty of time to groom her and convince her that that's the way it was and is....so maybe that's her perception of the truth. The age of "consent" is different in every state and different all over the world. So who determines that and how? I think no matter the age...if you are uncomfortable, if it feels wrong in ANY way, if you feel you have no choice, if it feels forced, if you feel ill, "icky", dirty, if there are any negative feelings....5 or 85....it's freakin' wrong....period.

When being abused, in that moment, your mind can seize up and freeze, in order to protcet you...thus making it very difficult to scream, kick, or utter a simple no. It is not your fault. Anyone who has sex with someone 18 years or younger, and is at least 3 years older than they are...well, that is abuse. In literaly terms according to the US gov't.

You did nothing wrong! You were but a wee-bit of a baby...you are so strong and make me so proud to call you my friend.

I think the ame thing. I never said no so maybe he thought I wanted to it...I don`t know and I wish and have dreams of me screaming NO NO NO, would he have stopped it?

oh hun, a few years younger than 13.. that makes you 10 or 11. At that age, our minds are not even developed enough to make a decision as to if we want sex because we can't even imagine what sex is....

Yes it was abuse. Yes you have every right to be angry. I can get angry with you if it will help.. get angry, hollar, cry, scream, beat up some pillows... do something... but get mad as hell... then start moving to a place of healing

I was 12 and my abuser was 33. I think he thought it was Ok Because his dad was in his thirties when he had sex with a 13 year old and then married her. He probly thought we were in a relationship. I never told him no. My mind was frozen with fear. I was scared, manipulated, Powerless, confused. The bottom line is You Don't Have Sex With Children. No Matter What!!
