By "telling" my story ... I realize that I'm letting some of the shame go. I, nor you, should feel ashamed of what happened to us. We were just children. The ones who should feel shame are the sick individuals who hurt us.

I agree with 1 and 2. Jounalling has helped me a lot. writing letters to my abusers (didn't send any when if first started the recovery) but it helped to write my feelings down. made for good practice until I finnally did send the letters.
hang in there. The ride you have been on for 32 years is about to change. It will be trying but very very worth it.
