I'm always trying to work out why I do this. For the last 6 months I have been really good and managed to avoid cutting (however I have done things I shouldn't to replace the urge).
I was wondering if anyone else knows why they do it, how they feel before, during and after and what do they find works for them when they are self injuring eg a knife, hair pulling.
I find that I don't feel that I'm self-inguring if I scratch until I scar, bash my head against a wall or pull my hair but I do cut myself when the urge is too much for me.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I feel good afterwards.... until I go to school the next day and someone accidentally sees it.
How I feel before - scared, upset, stressed, angry, hurt
How I feel during - relieved
How I feel after - relieved, guilty.
I have to bleed. That's my only requirement.
