My Mum recently found out that I cut myself. She walked in on me doing it and you know, since then she has really made an effort to understand me, my sister knows too and she is a dime about it, encouraging me to talk. I think maybe you should talk to your 'rents about it, try and get them to understand why you do it. I guess you want them to reach out to you over it? In my experiance people often do't mention it to you if they know you self harm as they are scared of what to say to you, like if they say the wrong thing and it sets you off cutting yourself. x x

well a "person" didnt help me really, God helps me,lol its the only reason why i havent cut in 3 years

when i told my mom, i tought i would get help, sadly i didn't i didn't get counseling, put on meds, or anything. the reason why my mom didn't get help for me was because she didn't want to think hat she was a bad mom

surprisingly, i went 2 years and 8 months with out cutting. until the thoughts and reams were getting bad so i worte a letter to my mom and i wanted to get help. when she told me i had to reshedule my appointment i was upset and we got into a fight and i had a relapse.

but i have been going to counseling by my choice.

but over all my friends on the teen advice sites i hang out in, my best friend sam whos a great friend on my myspace, and a lot more people

just depends on the person, some friends have been great, others annoying and others have left

i rarely tell my friends what i've been through and why i SI. i'm to afraid if i tell them i will lose friends and thats the last thing i want

my mom and one of my friends have really helped me a lot. at first my mom made it worse but her and i are so much closer because of it all. she still doesnt understand but she tries. at first she was just in shock (probably like your mom) and just didnt know what to do. give it time. my friend has been there for me more then i could have ever asked for. she has been through a lot of depression and suicide attempt and understands and cares about me. i suggest you try to find someone like that, someone who has been through it but is on the other side for the most part.

I have only told one person... my brother... the one time we talked.. it was about how my problems are causing him worries.

My husband has been very supportive, and remains that way through my insanity.

My mom knows. My dad does not. I am 30 years old & have cut since I was 17. The one person I really feel free talking about it to is my shrink. (Actually I have 2.) They are incredibly non-judgemental, which makes me feel like I can say anything. And that, of course, is incredibly freeing. It's amazing how much you can say -- and learn -- when you just open your mouth and speak.

Also, finding a partner who is not judgmental is amazing. I've had some who are, and some who simply listen. My current love simply listens. He accepts me cuts, scars & all, even though he doesn't *understand* it. Takes a long time, sometimes, to find that kind of person. Best to you, kid.

My dad and shrink help me cope and make sure that i'm safe.
What do u mean be no "people" help me are refering that god is the only answer if so thats pretty closed minded of you

my mum as helped me through it gettin me into support classes for it and also me skl as helped me

i'm in a lot of therapy, and on prozac and have been in patient. its hard core but it helps. also my friends and family know even though most of the time they are pretty useless
