where i live in southern england, there seems to be next to no awarness about the problems of self harm, when i think its just as equal a threat to somones happiness/life as drugs and alchol there were never any kind of campaighns saying just say no to the knife, or anything like that when in contrast there are truck loads of anti-drug and anti-alchol abuse campaighns, and i think i under estimated how bad cutting could make my life and just how much of an addiction it is when i started i thougt on the day i started cutting "Its no big deal, today suked il try this out and thatl be it." obviously couldent be more wrong i was completly clueless about how addictive it is and how much it was going to screw me up.
what do you guys think?, is there much awarness were you live?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
and i also think that not a lot of people know about it because it is such a sectretive thing and you dont brag about it like some kids do with guns and knives. i think also these things are classed as anti social behavoiurs and the government dont want to upset anyone else, so cutting up yourself is not as bad as drinking in public because no one else knows and no one can have the chance to complain to their councils about it.
its like they think, what they cant see cant hurt anyone else from the public, because the image of the youth and how they are running us, and how fucked up we all are is ok as long as they are percieved to be tackling the most "important" things (the things people can see and complain about) like guns and knives. and dont get me wrong, they are very important too.
man i think i may have repeated myself and gone on a little rant but i hope you get what i meant!!
