I was wondering how many parents are in the SI support group. I have met two so far.
When I was coming up, I never knew of self harm. I watched a movie once and was just shocked at what I saw. I didn't realize that one day I would be facing the same thing. I learned some dos and don'ts because of the movie.
When my daughter told me that she harmed herself, I didn't think it was serious. I later realized that it is very serious. It's not something to take lightly. This does excist and is very important to pay attention. It is important to have an open communication with your child. It's important for your child to know how much they are loved and wanted.
Kids go through so much in their lifetime. Like us adults, they do their best to try to cope with life's struggles. It's not always easy. Some people drink, smoke or do drugs and some people self harms. From what my daughter tells me, it is addictive also.
I am so grateful that I found this support group. It has helped me so much!!!!! Thank you all for being so wonderful=D.
If you are a parent of a child that self harms, please let me know. I would love to meet you......
thanks

A friend sent this to me..As far as I can see, grief will never truly end.It may become softer overtime, more gentleand some days will feel sharp. But grief will last as long as Love does - ForeverIt's simply the way the absence of your loved onemanifests in your heart. A deep longing accompaniedby the deepest Love some days. The heavy fog mayreturn and the next day, it may recede.Once again, it's...

I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
