im on wellbutrin and i have been on celexa in the past but never lithium. srry i wish i could help

ive been on lithium. it really helped me but i had weight gain with it and couldnt deal with it. i was also on the highest dose and was having other side effects but over all it was good.

A lot of weight gain? I'm not sure what his thoughts will be. He thinks he's over weight as it is and barely eats.

What other side effects? If you don't mind me asking. I also read you have to have your blood checked?

yeah you have to get blood levels checked every so often. that wasnt too bad. i was also on another med that caused weight gain so its hard to tell how much of it was the lithium but i gained like 10lbs. other side effects for me was that i got shakey and had to pee a lot. that again was once i was on a pretty high dose though. how much is he on?

I'll find out later on I'm sure. He just saw his doctor this morning who suggested adding it to his other 2 meds.

I'm read about how bad it is for your thyroid and kidneys. I makes me very nervous. :(

If he as any privouse experiance popping pills this should not be givin to him. It can be a very dangerous drug. the levels need to be monitored regularly.
I only say this cause my dr. had me on it but I had to stop cause the desir to take something that could for sure do me in scarred me.

Ummm we've been together 4 almost 4 yrs and doesn't have a history of popping pills. Other then migraine medication that he only rarely takes he never took any pills.

Now he's on his wellbutrin and celexa for his S/I and now they want to add Lithium to it.

I'm pretty sure it will e good for him. As long as he takes it regularly an is honest with the doc about concerns, side effects, or any missed doses. And they do level checks every few months or so with lith. As for me I have a list of meds I cant seem to commit to taking but Im hoping I can pull my head out of my ass to get better, but the lithium does worry me cause I have and lo pop when depressed. Last night for example, but that's another story.
