My memories are
like the knife
sharp and rigid
cold and biting
but memories
bring no escape
A quick flash of steel
penetrates my skin
and blood flows
the crimson pearls
streak down my leg
a substitute for tears
Now I have my escape
and feelings are let go
it doesn't hurtIm numb to pain
But the release
oh the red glorious release
is my drug of choice
with guilt and shame
my hangover
My wounds I cover up
and watch them heal
while my soul sits
patiently
and waits for its turn
to heal

I love it, it's very moving - and although my experience with SI is almost the opposite (I cut to get rid of the numb feeling, not to gain it) I really liked what you wrote when you said, "The crimson pearls streak down my leg A SUBSTITUTE FOR TEARS" very very well done, keep on writing!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
