I have been self harming for the last five years and have never been given any advice on how to stop this behaviour. I have read various articles on using elastic bands and squeezing ice cubes but have never tried because I don't believe they will work. I did try group therapy but only went once because I have a problem with trusting other people and I felt too embarassed admitting to strangers that I self harm. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
