Hey, I was wondering, if ANY one else knows what it's like to burn your self. Like with a lighter. You heat it up for like a minute or so, then you press it as hard as you can to your skin until it gets cold again. If you do it hard enough, the scar will be there for a long time. None of mine have gone away. And i was dumb about it at first because i would put them on my arms (quickest body part to get to), but I WASN'T TRYING TO GET ANY SPECIAL ATTENTION!! i just wanted to see if i could still feel, ya know? like, i had become so numb to any kind of harm, i wanted to make sure i was still there, alive. Then i added some to my legs (always covered), and then (very resently), on my left breast. Where my bras cover it. And now, I am scared because I can't feel it. it doesn't hurt anymore. and that sucks because i still feel hurt inside. :( Now I'm not exactly cutting, just carving words in various places. Back to the original question (sorry for rambling on, HABIT!! lol), does any one else do this?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
at first mine was a small sizzle on my left arm while I was straightening my hair, then I got addicted to it.
I have a scar from over six months ago on my ankle from a lighter on my ankle that is still purple and stings when you press it, even gently.
they never go away.
they are about some of the most perminant scars you can give yourself.
I'm covered in scars myself, some from years ago. I carved the word love into my left tigh, which has faded a bit, but not gone.
You should really stop hurting yourself love.. reason 1.) it is in no way, healthy. I would know this.. and I really don't have room to preach, because I do it too. but it's a habit I've been trying really hard to stop. 2.) when you have gotten yourself under control, you will regret it every time you see those scars. you will remember the pain that you had, and it could drag you back down into it.. I have been there also. and 3.) some stories are better left untold. and they stories left on your body (scars) can never be silenced.
i do the same. heat up my lighter really hot and then put it onto my arm mostly.
for some reason it doesnt hurt nearly as much on my right arm. so i did it there to see how much i culd do.
the worst i did was heating up one side of metal tweezers and pressing them there. it blistered almost instantly. and i culd jus say it was a accident cuz it wasnt a smiley like from a lighter. stil have the scar. its awesome :D
Some of the burns are 10 years old now and still very visable, they just dont seem to fade.
I think it is like any other form of SI - addictive and dangerous and you always want to go that bit further.
If it doesn't hurt anymore, I think you really need to get help. I ended up in the hospital because I couldn't see how bad I was cutting myself, I didn't feel it at all. It was a huge mess, cops in the house, blood ALL over the kitchen, and my husband scared to death because he thought I might die from it.
