Why do people judge the seriousness of my self harm on how deep/big my wound is? All the literature I have read on the subject insists that self harm is serious regardless of depth or whatever, but people just seem to dismiss it unless i really hurt myself and need stitches etc. I dont bother telling people I do it anymore because I dont think they will take me seriously unless I bleed half to death or something. Is this just me this happens to?
