I call one of my friends and just talk about anything and everything. My close friends know that when I call at a weird time that I am not ok... so they will talk about their days and 45 to an hour later I am usually feeling ok. If not I try to sleep. The other things I do I wont say because they arent good things.... not healthy ways of coping. good luck

In the SAFE program we were taught to have a list of alternatives to use when we were having impulses to self harm. Most people did things like reading, writing/journaling, drawing, watching TV, talking on the phone, playing with pets, going for a walk, listening to music, etc.
