Scoliosis affects all ages. Unlike the naturally occurring curves in the spine, scoliosis causes the spine to curve abnormally to the left or right.

I've read that there's a 20% more likely chance that a child will develop scoliosis if there's a family history (usually the mother) of it. Anyone know of anything that can be done to prevent that from happening?

Pray for good genetics? I don't know that there is any way to prevent genetic make up. You will have to roll the dice to find out. I could be very wrong though.....

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps.
