I am wondering how long after surgery it was that you started your period?
I had my surgery 5 months ago and I am still waiting for it to happen again.
I asked my doctor about it at the three month check up and he said that my body if focusing on surviving...not reproducing. I get that...but how long does this usually take?

I have heard that i will most likly start during my surgery and then after that it could be anywhere from 1 month to a year atleast that is what my doctor told me

I had mine in the hospital. But i think it was awhile after that. Your body is going through some major changes right now. Could you be pregnate?

No, I know that I am not pregnant. I guess my body is just doing what it needs to be doing.
Hug...i sure hope it is comes faster than a year!
I see my doctor Monday. I will see what he has to say this time.

That is just what my doctor told me to not be worried about it until it has been over a year

I finally started!! It only took me 5 1/2 months after surgery....guess that is better than a year!

This is kind of a late reply but after all my research and I was also told by my future mother-in-law (who is a retired surgical nurse and also had spine surgery), a woman will probably get her surgery during or right after her surgery due to the shock trauma the surgery causes the body to go thru. In my situation, I just had my period the week before my surgery (matter of fact I was on day 6 the day of my surgery). I was told that by the next morning my period (after the 10 1/2 hour surgery) my period had started all over again (I was in ICU hooked to a ventalator for almost 3 days due to breathing complications so I was unaware until around day 5) but I had a "light period" for about 7 days following surgery and my cycle continued on its regular schedule since then. It was no fun dealing with it while I was stuck in bed for the first week, that's for sure.

    theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
