Well here is the list my doctors gave me, I just found it today. Keep in mind that my surgery was 15 years ago. God I am old!!.....
I also had anterior and posterior spinal fusion....
at 1 monthe i could, shower, drive, go to school(though i could only go half days),walk, lift 0-5lbs, and light upper extrimity exercise.
At 3 monthes I could... bicycle, swim, and light jogging.
At 6 monthes I could lift 5-10lbs, routine gym, and non contact sports.
At 1 year I could skate, ski, go bowling, amusements(?) contact sports, lift more than 10 lbs, 50 lbs MAX,
At 2 yrs I could ride horses (no jumping)
Now for the bad part, the rest of these things are on the NEVER list...
parachuting, motorcycles, rollar coasters, break danceing, and trampoline.
Yes I have broke the rules some, but If I get in a motorcycle accident I can only imagine what would happen. I do lift over 50lbs, but have bad back aches latter.
This doesnt replace you DRs advice, please do as he says!
