My Husband has been DX with Schizophrenia and I would like to know how to help him so I can help us.

Make sure he takes his meds. This will help everyone. Continue to encourage him but do not baby him. Set goals. This is a learning process that will take some time. Make sure he sees a therapist as well.

You can talk to caregiver07. Her husband has schiz. The biggest thing is that he takes his meds. Find a doctor he likes and stick with them. Then patience is key.

I agree with the others. I'm schizo-affective, without my meds I don't know what I'd do. Realize, though, that it takes time. It took four years to find the right meds at the right doses. Be wifh him, support him. My wife is my anchor, without her I'd be drifting, lost.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps.
