Okay... so I have a new rhemy, and now that I'm not pregnant anymore I can finally take some meds other than Predinsone, ibuprofin and pain meds. So I am starting Methotrexate. I took my first dose last Sunday. I am suposed to take it once a week... the first two weeks I take 4 pills, then up the dosage to six pills (they are 2.5mg) They said it could take up to 6 weeks to be effective. So my questions are... does it really take this long? And I know that the main goal of taking it is to stop my joint damage... will this also stop me from having so much pain? My Docs want me to not have to take so many pain meds... but at this point, even though I want to take less... I just cant! Not only because it just hurts too much... but also because I have to be able to physically take care of my 5 month old... If I cant function at all - its pretty difficult to change diapers, etc. Just wondering from those of you who have used MTX. Thanks
