Walking very much hurts the bottoms of my feet, my toes and sometimes even my ankles. I like to wear my memory foam sandals because in my shoes my toes tend to feel crunched up. But in the long run my feet hurt worse when I walk too much in my sandals verses my shoes. But then when I wear my shoes to walk my feet don't hurt as bad until after I take my shoes off. Then it can be even worse. That's where the confusion comes in. I don't know if the special shoes help or just hide the problems that are causing the pain.
