I'm 20 years old. I've been on MTX for almost 2 years. I knew that it is very toxic and cause birth defects, thats why you can't take it during pregnancy. However, my question is will taking MTX now, hurt my future pregnancies? I'm not ready for kids yet, but when I am, I know most of the challenges I face with that, but is this something I should be concerned about...what about Remicade or Orencia?

come on now, no one has any answers?

my doctor said it doesn't hurt future pregnancies. as long as you're off the MTX for at least 3 mo's prior the getting preg, everything should be fine. :)

My dr. said that if you wish to have children you have to be off the mtx for at least 6 monthto a year. However, I did read in a health magazine that it can cause problems later on having children. It can make you infertile. Just talk to your dr. about it. It didn't matter to me because i cant have children anyway due to endometriosis.

thanks for your help everyone. I have much concerns about having children anyway, due to antiphospolipid antibodies my doctors say i might have trouble anyway, and i figure with that risk, i didn't want to increase the risk by having taken all these dangerous medications. I'm glad to know that i can just stop for a period of time prior to trying to conceive. That puts my mind at ease!

My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
