I HAVE RECENTLY BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH RA AND FIBRO. I AM JUST 44 BUT I HAVE A 31 YEAR OLD NIECE WHO HAS BEEN IN A WHEEL CHAIR FOR TEN YEARS DUE TO RA AND HER MOM (MY SISTER) HAS RA AND HAD TO HAVE SURGERY ON HER HANDS AND ELBOWS. I AM SCARED TO SAY THE LEAST. IS THERE A DRUG TO STOP THE PROGRESSION THAT YALL WOULD RECOMMEND? I READ SOME OF THE SIDE EFFECTS ON SOME OF THOSE MEDS AND GOT ILL JUST ON THAT. IT IS SAD WITH MODERN TECHNOLOGY THAT SIDE EFFECTS CANT BE CONTROLED BETTER..... MY NIECE WHO JUST MADE 23 WAS ON BORROWED TIME LUPUS WISE SO AS A LAST RESORT THEY DID A HARSH ROUND OF CHEMO THERAPY FOR TWICE A MONTH FOR A YEAR.. SHE WENT FROM A DAILY STRUGGLE WITH LUPUS TO BEING TOLD AFTER CHEMO SHE IS IN REMISSION AS OF NOW. SHE LOST ALOT OF WEIGHT AND SHE IS THE HAPPIEST AND HEALTHIEST I HAVE SEEN HER IN HER LIFE. SHE LOST ALOT OF HER WEIGHT FROM THE CHEMO BUT SHE DECIDED TO ADOPT A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE AND LOST THE LAST 30 POUNDS TO BE HER IDEAL WEIGHT. I WILL KNOW MONDAY WHAT THE RESULTS OF MY LUPUS TEST IS. MY DOCTOR DOES NOT FEEL I HAVE THE SIGNS OF LUPUS SO I HOPE HE IS RIGHT..... THANKS FOR READING..

Does the overactive immune system we're trying to actively suppress actually help...
